KINDERGARTERS – Learning Fire Safety

*Story by FF Curtis Pollard

Shift 2 PupFirefighter Pollard and his friend Fire Pup made a special visit yesterday to Jefferson Elementary.

The kindergarten students are learning about the letters in the alphabet and thought it was a good idea to let the El Dorado Fire Department teach them a letter. Firefighter Pollard taught the students about the letter “F”.

He talked about firefighters and fire trucks, and some of the students gave words like fire hose and fire extinguisher. Firefighter Pollard talked to them about the most important one, Fire Safety.

The students were great and were able to tell him what number to call if there was an emergency, about stop drop and roll, and where to go if there was a fire in their home.

Even though there was an emergency in the middle of the presentation, I know that Fire Pup had a great time seeing the kids. Thank you Jefferson kindergarteners!
