It’s that time of the year again. The first weekend in September is Labor Day Weekend, but it’s also the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association fund raiser.
Children afflicted by the disease are often called Jerry’s Kids, because of Jerry Lewis getting the fund raiser started as well as keeping it going.
Nothing against Jerry Lewis, because he deserves all the accolades in the world, but I don’t think Jerry would mind if we also called the MDA children the Firefighter’s Kids.
Firefighters across the nation will be at supermarkets holding their boots out fund raising. Drop a dollar in the boot if you have a spare one.
And be sure and pet Felipe if he’s there.
