Have you ever wondered what you would choose to look like if you were given the chance to do just that? That is kind of what happened the past few days with El Dorado’s soon-to-be member of the department.
His name is Tower 1.
Early Monday morning – real early as in 3:30 a.m. – representatives from the El Dorado fire department headed down the road for the airport. The next three days would be spent with representatives of the Pierce fire truck manufacturer at the plant in Appleton, Wisconsin.
One of the great things about Pierce is how many fire trucks they build. Approximately 26000 annually. So, there were a number of trucks on site to take a “look-see” in choosing features for Tower 1.
Would it have this light or that light, this siren or that siren, this decal or that decal – and the list goes on.
One thing is for certain. The El Dorado representatives made sure that he will be the best in both function and in looks.
And he’s due in February.
