El Dorado Firefighters were extra busy yesterday burning off city owned acreage. Several off-duty firefighters as well as some student residents, as well as volunteers pitched in to help.
The burn went off perfect except at about the 50% point when crews were dispatched to a porch on fire. Some firefighters stayed with the controlled burn while others responded to the porch afire.
The porch responders found the fire, which was caused by a discarded cigarette, was mostly burned out.
Shortly after the controlled burn was finished, crews were paged out to back to back to back out of control, controlled burns.
Better to name the burns “planned” instead of “controlled”.
Great job by a lot of firefighters!
